Baseline Schedule Development

The baseline schedule is the foundation of every project control function — payment applications, earned value, delay analysis, and contract compliance all depend on it. A rejected baseline delays mobilization, stalls your first pay app, and signals to the owner that your team isn't ready.

We develop baseline schedules that get approved on the first submission. Our process includes scope review, WBS development, activity definition, logic network construction, duration estimation based on crew productivity, calendar configuration, constraint application, cost loading, resource loading, and narrative report preparation.

• Complete logic network — every activity has at least one predecessor and one successor, with relationship types that reflect actual construction dependencies
• Duration basis — durations derived from crew sizes, production rates, and quantity takeoffs — not guesses
• Cost loading — activity-level budget allocation for payment application support and earned value tracking
• Resource loading — labor, equipment, and material assignments for resource leveling and crew optimization

Monthly Schedule Updates

A baseline without updates is just a plan that becomes fiction by week three. We perform monthly progress updates that capture actual start and finish dates, remaining durations, percent complete, and logic modifications — then produce a schedule narrative that explains variances, critical path shifts, and recovery actions.

Our update process follows a disciplined approach: field verification of progress, data entry in Primavera P6, schedule calculation and analysis, variance identification, critical path validation, and narrative report production. Every update is delivered with a comparison report showing period-over-period changes in float, critical path, and completion forecast.

We develop acceleration and recovery strategies that are realistic, executable, and defensible — not fantasy timelines that show a miraculous return to the original completion date through impossible productivity assumptions.
